Filmmaker Wins Prestigious CINE Golden Eagle Award

Los Angeles, California: Theresa Demarest has won the prestigious CINE Golden Eagle Award in the Independent Documentary category for KEIKO THE UNTOLD STORY, a film she wrote, produced and directed.  The CINE Golden Eagle Awards are given for excellence in professional, independent and student filmmaking and are recognized internationally as symbols of the highest standards in film and television production.

 

Since its founding in 1957, CINE has been dedicated to honoring emerging and established talent in film, television and new media.  Theresa Demarest now joins a remarkable list of CINE Golden Eagle Award-winning filmmakers, including such noted directors as Steven Spielberg, Albert Maysles, Mel Brooks, Ron Howard, Mike Nichols, Robert Zemeckis, and many others.

 

Theresa DemarestÕs film is now a nominee for the CINE Masters Series Award, given annually to the top film in each of CINEÕs eight professional, independent and student divisions.  The CINE Masters Series Award in the Independent Division will be presented at CINEÕs 2011 Awards Gala next Spring in Washington, D.C.
